The Innometriks Inc Advantage
Open architecture - Our product line is built on a truly open platform. When we say open we are referring to allow our customers not only to customize our solution but to also chose other products to integrate with ours. So what does this mean to our customers?Templates - We use open ANSI templates for our 1:1 matchers. That means that all users enrolled can not only be used on all Innometriks Inc readers but also any other manufactures readers that also are capable of using ANSI templates. All the leading companies in the US have ANSI matchers available today (http://fingerprint.nist.gov/minex/QPL.html) however they only provide it on government readers. Why is this? Because they still want to control their commercial customers with proprietary templates. While the government demanded it the commercial space is relatively unaware it exists today so most companies are getting away with providing products that will control their customers.
Firmware - We run our hardware with a Linux operating system and provide full SDK's for both the communications to our product but also to the software running on the readers too. This means if you want to create a custom PC application that enrolls users, configures readers or receives transactions directly from the reader either via USB, RS485, Wiegand or Ethernet you have the tools available to accomplish this.
However what if you wanted to change the way the reader operated? What if you wanted to add some additional controls? With our full reader SDK you are able to modify our existing application or completely rewrite it and create your own. We have built our operating system just like your standard PC with all hardware such as LCD, Keypad, Smartcard readers, and sensors as driver libraries. So with our reader SDK you will receive not only the calls to communicate to all hardware and communications interfaces you will also have the source code to our current application offerings to modify as you wish. It is as simple as writing a PC application.
Hardware Flexibility - We understand that while we may try and make the best choices as a manufacture as to which sensor to use and which smartcard reader to integrate offering just one is never going to work. That is why we provide the ability to allow you to order your reader with various sensor options such as the Futronic FS81 (http://www.futronic.com.hk/product_fs81.html) or the Lumidigm Venus (http://www.lumidigm.com/VenusOEM.html). Each sensor has its distinct advantageous based on what your needs are.
We also provide the choice of which type of smartcard technology you wish to use. We have integrated solutions that will provide you the ability to read and write to iCLASS, DESfire, Mifare and read the government issued TWIC and FIPS201 cards. We also provide a Wiegand input to our reader to allow for integration of just about any other card technology on the market.
Future proofing - Because of our ground up design on the ARM9 processor and the Linux operating system we are able to provide not only future firmware upgrades but also upgrades to the Linux kernel as they become available and provide new features. Our simple approach to this design allows us to also even provide future hardware upgrades just like upgrading your motherboard in a PC. If a future design provides some new feature you are looking for then a single assembly can be replaced providing a completely new hardware main board while leaving in place the display, fingerprint scanner, smartcard reader and keypad just like you would when making a simple upgrade on a PC.
Open Algorithms - Currently our solution operates using the Innovatrics (http://www.innovatrics.com) algorithm which offers great performance for 1:1 and 1:N matching. We are currently working on adding 123ID (http://www.123id.us) to our offering. Again this is another very strong algorithm which offers distinct advantageous. We are continually looking at other products to add to our solutions list so more will be available in the near future. You will simply be able to choice the algorithm that best fits your application.
Enrollment options - Currently many of our competitors force their users to have to enroll using their scanner on their reader solution. The Innometriks Inc solution allows you to not only scan a live finger on our terminals but also to enroll on your PC using a standard USB scanner. However what if you already have ANSI378 templates? This is no problem they can be imported and used directly with our readers. What if you have already scanned your users using a live scan system and have 500dpi images or the FBI wsq formats? This is also no problem. We can directly import and convert those into industry standard ANSI378 templates for use on our readers or that of any other compliant products.
Integration - The other big issue is how do I integrate this system with my current access control solution (PACS)? We have like many others the standard Wiegand communications built into our standard offering. However that is where the similarities stop. Most other solutions will just match the finger, give you a green LED and send some data off to the PACS system. If the door opens that is great but you have no idea if it did by looking at the reader and also if it didn't why not?
We have built in to our standard product a very comprehensive low level communications that will work with just about every access control solution on the market. This means that we can use our LCD display to show not just that the fingerprint matched but also Access Granted, Access Denied, Enter PIN, Invalid card, Wrong PIN and so on.
We have also been working with industry leaders to develop a new protocol (OSDP) for PACS communications with will use our RS485 interface to talk directly to their panels for secure and feature rich communications. This channel will not only provide all the current communications but also new features like reader configuration changes, time set, firmware updates, custom messaging, and user interfacing using the programmable function keys.
Features - We have created a new level of product with many incredible features. Huge 3.5" color LCD display, lighted keypad with four programmable function keys, Full Ethernet support, programmable I/O, on board programmable relay, and SD memory expansion.
